Seasonally Challenged

I think my boys are seasonally challenged! In the dead of winter when it is freezing cold around here, the boys prefer to run around in just their big boys.

Yet in the middle of summer, they would prefer to wear a sweatshirt and long pants.

I will never figure them out??

Moon Sand

Well, the boys were introduced to a very exciting new activity today... building things out of moon sand! They loved to mash it and drive their monster truck through it. It was all fun and games until it ended up all over the kitchen. :-(

Perhaps tomorrow we'll play again... but this time it will be outside.

Update on Parenting Dilemma #2

Carter is showing off his new potty chart!

A while back I posted an entry about the difficulties I was having trying to potty train my boys. Well, I am happy to report that things are going much better than I had expected. We tried pull-ups for a while, and although they come in handy for quick trips to the bathroom the boys still considered them as diapers and would go in them whenever they felt the need.

Earlier this week, I decided to bite the bullet and go solely with "big boy" underwear. I knew it was going to be messy, but I felt the boys needed to dislike going in their pants before they would quit. I am happy to report that the twins are doing great with the change. Even though we were gone most of the day, at the zoo and softball games, Spencer never once had an accident. Mason had one in the morning, but was very good the rest of the day! Carter is doing great as well. He is still in pull-ups, but he is telling us when he needs to go on a regular basis.

I am very proud of the progress all three of them have made. Do you realize how much money I will be saving once all three of them are out of diapers??

New Software!

I have been having a blast with my new software. It makes work so much easier and allows me to play around with actions. Here are some of the latest photos I have created.

Play Ball

Tonight was Jenna's first softball game of the season. She was able to pitch the second half of the game.

This is the face Mason gave me at the game when I wouldn't let him throw rocks.

I know, I am a very mean mom!! :-(

OCD

This is Mason... my son who has OCD tendencies! He is ALWAYS washing his hands.

If he is anywhere remotely close to soap and a faucet, you can bet he is in it.

He is actually very picky about a lot of different things.

For instance, since he wore the shirt and shorts (pictured above) together once before, he will not wear either item paired with different shorts or shirts. He believes they are meant for each other... he obviously does not understand the concept of separates (mix-and-match for more possibilities!) He is also very picky about the stool he is standing on. I purposely bought three of the exact same kind so they boys would not argue over them. Mason, with his keen sense of detail, knows that the sticker on his stool is torn. He refuses to use any other stool in the house. Arghhh!!!

Video Gamer

There are very few times when I can snap pictures of Mason without him noticing me.

Unless of course he is playing video games... which isn't very often.

I am in awe at how a child the age of three can just pick up a controller and truly understand how to play a game.

Just look at that concentration! He totally understands how to move the joystick and press the button at the same time. His video gaming ability is far ahead of that of his brother's.

Spencer enjoys plugging the game in and getting it to work, but once that is done he is more concerned with climbing the couch!!
